5 Ways To Make The Perfect DIY Holiday Gift With NJ Lottery Scratch-Offs

DIY Holiday Gift

Tis the season for making the perfect last minute DIY holiday gift! Countdown until Christmas begins and if you’re anything like me, you’re scrambling to find last minute gifts. I’ve been on a DIY kick lately and love getting creative during the holidays, so I knew I wanted to get creative for my gifts this year.

Last year, I shared 4 easy DIY gifts made with NJ Lottery tickets. Not only did my readers love the ideas, but my family and friends who received them loved them even more (I don’t blame them haha). The gifts I made were extremely easy to make and the supplies I used were either items I found around the house or things I picked up from Hobby Lobby at an extremely affordable price.

This year, I’m partnering with The New Jersey Lottery again to create 5 easy DIY holiday gifts for that special adult in your life using their holiday themed scratch-offs. With 4 festive tickets to pick from jampacked with over $41 million in prizes, New Jersey Lottery holiday Scratch-offs are a fun gift that could keep on giving. Check out how you can gift NJ lottery scratch-offs in a fun creative way!

This post has been sponsored by NJ Lottery but all opinions are entirely my own

Pull Box

This one is one of my favorites because they never know how many scratch-offs are in there- they just keep pulling! I purchased a small gift box from Hobby Lobby to create this, but you can use any box (last year I used an empty tissue box). I wrapped the empty box with holiday wrapping paper I had laying around the house and used a box cutter to slice a slot on the top. You’ll want to make sure the slot is wider than the scratch-offs and just a little thicker to make it easier to pull out the tickets. After feeding my scratch-offs through the slot, I taped a piece of cardstock paper with the words “Pull Here” to the last scratch-off. The best scratch-offs to use for this are the $1 Sleigh Bills because they’re not that big and you can use 5 – 10 of them for pulling without breaking the bank.

Mug Bouquet

This one is perfect for the coffee lover in your live or for a teacher! The $1 Sleigh Bills scratch-offs worked well for this one because it’s small enough to use in a mug. I used 5 scratch-offs, 5 red striped straws (but you can use crafting sticks or popsicle sticks instead), holiday ribbon and a holiday mug (Target has the cutest mugs!). Using the mug as the “vase” of your bouquet, you’re going to tape one scratch-off on each straw. I cut some of the straws so some scratch-offs sat lower than the others and I used the holiday ribbon as “filler” so the straws wouldn’t move around. I’ll be covering this with cellophane and tying a cute gift tag to give to some of my coworkers this year!

Scratch-Off Wreath

Probably the easiest DIY gift out of all of these- the scratch-off wreath! All I used for this was a foam wreath, a holiday bow and two types of scratch-offs – the $1 Sleigh Bills and the $2 Snow Me The Money! All I did for this was tape the scratch-offs around the wreath, alternating and covering all of the foam. Once all scratch-offs were placed down and taped, I added the bow on the front. A friendly tip for this one is to use tape that won’t ruin the scratch-offs or to make sure you’re not taping over the parts where you scratch or any barcodes!

Ornament

I made this ornament last year and it came out so cute that I needed to recreate it his year! Super easy to make and you only need 3 things! I purchased the plastic ornament from Hobby Lobby and used little pompoms as the filler. You can use pretty much anything as the filler, but I’d recommend staying away from sequins, glitter or anything else that would leave a mess when you crack open the ornament. I lined each side of the ornament with a $1 Sleigh Bills scratch-off, but you can use just one and write a cute message on the other side with marker, vinyl or stickers.

Picture Frame

Last but not least, a DIY scratch-off picture frame! This is probably the most expensive DIY holiday gift out of all the other ones, but if you’re looking to splurge on a loved one this is a cute way of doing it! The supplies for this one was affordable but to fill up the frame with scratch-offs is what cost the most. I filled up my 16×20 frame with all 4 of NJ Lottery’s Holiday Scratch-Offa – the $1 Sleigh Bills, $2 Snow Me The Money, $5 Peppermint Payout and the $10 Winter Wishes. If you’re looking to spend less on this one you can always use a smaller frame. Finish it off with ribbon and a pretty bow!

I can’t wait to see the look on my friends faces when they receive these handmade gifts! I used to always give gift cards but using NJ Lottery scratch-offs for a creative DIY holiday gift shows I actually put time and thought into someone’s gift, and it wasn’t something I just picked up on my way to their place (guilty for every other occasion haha). I hope you love these ideas as much as I do! Which one will you be recreating??
